An audit of HIV-infected and -uninfected men attending two clinics at an inner London treatment centre demonstrated an alarming lack of awareness of post-exposure prophylaxis following sexual exposure (PEPSE). This audit suggests that strategies for increasing awareness of PEPSE among 'at risk' men are urgently needed.
